Professor Dr. Natxo Sorolla, member of the research team has represented the project partnership at the13th Spanish Congress of Sociology organised by the Spanish Federation of Sociology at the University of Valencia past July 3rd to 6th.
During these days, Dr. Natxo Sorolla has presented two different papers, entitled and co-authored as follows:
- Serrano, Ma. Angeles; Alarcón, A.; Vidal-Suñé, A.: “Ocupaciones y lenguaje: Analizando desafíos en la creciente especialización lingüística de las organizaciones”.
- Alarcón, A.; Sorolla, N.; Serrano, M.A.: “Social indicators of occupations skills, literacy and occupational prestige scalesLiteracies, occupations and prestige scales”.
Both papers have addressed the challenges of the process followed as well as the main findings obtained in the development of the scales of linguistic intensity of occupations. Furthermore, the explanation has been complemented with some comparisons with the professional prestige. Interesant questions and remarks were also answered after the exposition.
